Giant plans for North Sea wind

8 February 2005

Dublin-based Airtricity has ambitious plans to build a £1.2 billion ($2.3 billion) off-shore wind farm in the North Sea. The group is currently assembling a consortium of energy and construction partners which aims to raise finance for a wind farm of about 5 000 turbines that would produce more than 10 GW of power, making it the world’s largest single-site wind farm on or off-shore.
