HeliosAltas to deliver small hydro technology to the Philippines

HeliosAltas Corporation has secured an exclusive distribution and development partnership agreement with DA Green Power Consulting (DAGPC) that will see the firm deliver its Helios PowerWheel Technology for use in the Philippines.

In the deal, valued at a minimum of $16.2 million for the first four years, the technology will provide valuable zero emission renewable energy to the Philippine power grid as well as power to remote villages isolated from the grid.

Designed as a suspended hydroelectric generator, The Helios PowerWheel rises and falls with changing water levels automatically meaning it does not catch debris and allows full aquatic passage. All of the generation components are contained within the shell of the unit making it truly modular hydro technology, the developer said, adding that it requires little to no civil infrastructure and it is designed to be added to existing projects to capture unused energy. Units can be installed in series or parallel in Hydro-Farms.

"This unique renewable technology can provide consistent baseload power at a significant cost savings to our customers. We already have a backlog of installations for the first year with more projects in discussion," commented Archimedes Flores, CEO of DAGPC.

"We have been working with our partner under an MOU agreement for over a year to analyze and understand the Philippine market," added Michael Carroll, CEO of HeliosAltas. "We are extremely excited to be signing the agreement with DAGPC. As a power trader they understand this market intimately and have previous experience developing renewable projects."
