1 April 2012

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and European Atomic Forum have signed a co-operation agreement that makes official an arrangement that has existed for thirty years. The IAEA and Foratom have been co-operating for that period of time in the promotion of the IAEA safety standards in the field of management systems. This has been done particularly through the Foratom management system task force that has always maintained strong links with the IAEA.

The agreement was signed on 20 March 2012 by J.P. Poncelet, director general of Foratom and Alexander Bychkov, IAEA deputy director general for nuclear energy.
