The turbines for the project in Bahce, about 40 km from Osmaniye province, will be supplied by GE. The company will provide 52 of its 2.5 MW 2.5xl machines to Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim, making it the world's largest installation of GE's latest wind turbine technology.
Output from the plant will be purchased by independent power consumers.
The new machine's rotor diameter of 100 m is an increase of 12 m over the current 2.5 MW wind turbine.
