The UK Energy Minister has announced a new study into options for strengthening the transmission system between Scotland and the rest of the UK. A just-published study into the concept of a subsea interconnector along the western seaboard of the UK has indicated that a land-based option for strengthening north-south transmission capacity should be considered. Recommendations are expected within six months.
