MHI wins GTCC orders

27 April 2007

The two orders are for KOWEPO's Gunsan power station and KDHC's Paju combined heat and power plant. Both systems are scheduled to go on-stream in November 2009.

The 750 MW plant for KOWEPO, which was ordered from a consortium of MHI and Marubeni Corp, will be installed in Gunsan, a coastal city in Jeollabuk-do.

KDHC's 515 MW Paju CHP plant is to be developed by MHI and three Korean construction companies: Daewoo, Hyundai, and POSCO. The plant will be built in Paju-city, Gyeonggi-do, located northwest of Seoul.

Each plant will consist of two gas turbines, one steam generator, one heat recovery steam generator and three generators. MHI will manufacture the power island, Mitsubishi the generators.

Marubeni will provide steam condensers and balance of plant for the KOWEPO project, while Daewoo, Hyundai and POSCO will take charge of construction, installation and HRSG procurement for the KDHC plant.
