The first in a new generation of Mitsui Babcock supercritical power plant boilers has been bought on line at the Changshu power plant, close to Shanghai in China. This is the first supercritical contract for the Mitsui Babcock - Harbin Boiler Company (HBC), China's largest utility boiler manufacturer, under a technology sharing deal.
Commissioning of the new 600 MW supercritical boiler is due over the next few months.
