Two identical steam power units are to be developed in Morocco by Siemens for the Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP).
The two turnkey projects will be developed in Jorf Lasfar, located 110 km south of Casablanca. Each will have a capacity of 33 MW which will meet the auxiliary demand of OCP's phosphoric acid production process. Surplus power will be sold to utilities.
Under the terms of the contract Siemens will supply two steam turbine-generators, the condensers, and the electrical and I&C equipment. Paris-based Litwin will be responsible for the civil works, erection and various ancillary systems. Commissioning is scheduled for May and June 2007.
