Three leading nuclear companies, CH2M Hill, Areva and Serco, have formed a new consortium - CAS Restoration Partnership - to participate in the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s (NDA) competition for the Parent Body Organisations (PBO) for Magnox Ltd and Research Sites Restoration Ltd (RSRL). The NDA’s new PBO will oversee management of decommissioning activities at 12 nuclear sites in the UL.

CAS Restoration Partnership says that it brings together unparalleled United Kingdom and global nuclear operations, site management, decommissioning, and waste management expertise of its three partners. CH2M Hill is prominent in nuclear facility decommissioning and environmental restoration with experience on nuclear cleanup programmes around the globe. CH2M Hill has already delivered significant contracts to NDA and to other large infrastructure programmes and public works initiatives in the UK. Areva is ranked first in the global nuclear power industry, with its integrated offering covering all stages of the fuel cycle, nuclear reactor design and construction, and related services. It also has much experience of nuclear facility decommissioning in Europe and the United States, notably the operation and decommissioning of major nuclear sites such as Marcoule (France), Hanford (United States) and Sellafield (United Kingdom), as well as a strong background in the management of spent fuel, including that from graphite moderated reactors. Serco is a FTSE 100 international service company, with over 40 years experience of improving essential services by managing processes, technology and assets more effectively.
