New de-sal plant for Fujairah

Abu Dhabi’s state-owned Union Water and Electricity Company PJSC is planning to develop a water desalination and power generating station in the Qidfa District of Fujairah at a cost of Dh3.5 billion (euro 735 million). According to a feasibility study, the station will produce 800 - 1 000 MW and 100 million gallons of water per day. Development of project is expected to commence in mid-2006.
