NextEnergy Solar Fund has increased its operating solar power plant base in the UK with the acquisition of three solar farms from Hanwha Q Cells Co. Ltd.

The investment firm paid £61.7 million for the 53.3 MW portfolio, bringing its UK solar asset base to 329 MW across 28 sites. The portfolio has long-term financing provided by Bayerische Landesbank, the firm said.

The solar farms included in the latest transaction are the 20.4 MW Fenland, the 24.8 MW Green End and the 8.1 MW Tower Hill facilities. They were built by Hanwha Q Cells and were connected to the grid in the first quarter of 2015.
