Poyry wins 130 MW solar engineering contract

Energy Absolute Public Company Limited has awarded Pöyry engineering assignments to assist with the construction of a 130 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Thailand.

The EA Solar Lampang PV power plant will consist of 424 800 solar panels and will be Asia's largest solar PV power plant incorporating a tracking system.

Pöyry's assignments include technical assistance to the client during the implementation phase until start of operation later in 2014, and annual operation monitoring for the whole loan period.

Didier Mallieu, vice president of Pöyry's Hydropower and Renewable Energy Global Competence Line, said that the contract would enable Pöyry to "support the Thai power sector in its rapid expansion in the renewable energy sector".
