Public Electricity of Yemen opens tender for major transmission line project

The Public Electricity Corporation of Yemen is calling for international contractors to bid for a major transmission line project, a 132kV, 305 km double circuit overhead transmission line from Dhamar to Aden. The project has received financing from the Abu Dhabi Development Fund.

The 27 month contract comprises design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning. The project has been split into five individual sections, namely Dhamar to Suhban (87 km), Suhban to Haoban (53 km), Haoban to Al Arish (143 km), Al Arish (7 km) and Mansoura (8 km).

The project includes the connection of line sections and points with both new and existing substations. Tender documents can be obtained upon submission of a written application by 26 May 26 2012 to the Project Implementing Unit Office upon payment of a non-refundable USD 1000 fee. A site visit for all prospective tenderers will be arranged in the period from 21 April to 3 May 2012, and a pre-bid meeting on May 7th 2012 at the GM's office in Sana'a, Yemen.
