Reliance Energy to build Haryana

The Haryana, India, state cabinet has approved the award to Reliance Energy of a $450 million turnkey contract to build two 300 MWe coal-fired units on a greenfield site at Yamunanagar. The first unit is due to start operation in the first quarter of 2007.

In the pre-bid process six companies were found to be eligible. In the event only the BHEL and Reliance Energy bids that were scrutinised and evaluated by the Central Electricity Authority.
