Ruling the waves

The UK department of energy has decided to support with £2.3 million the development and demonstration of a series of new wave energy devices off the Western Isles, Scotland. Inverness company Wavegen will use the money to fund three devices located in shallow waters and based on the oscillating water column principle already demonstrated onshore.
