The Quebec wind energy company Dermond Inc, which develops vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs), has been acquired by McKenzie Bay International Ltd. Details of the terms of the acquisition are not available.
McKenzie Bay has traditionally been involved in the mineral prospecting and recovery business. It has an interest in a vanadium-titanium deposit in Quebec. However the purchase of the VAWT company is claimed to be part of a new Electricity Management Systems strategy.
