Scania makes Grand Alpine plant

5 February 2002

Wearnes Technoology Grand Alpine electronic manufacturing plant at Johor, Malaysia, is a leading producer of CD drives and ROMs as well as other digital products. In this ultra-competitive business, production targets and delivery commitments must be strictly adhered to, and power outages are correspondingly expensive. With this in mind, Grand Alpine has decided to install a Scania Scanpac standby generator, a decision based mainly on the company's reputation for after sales service. The unit had to meet certain step load requirements and comply with local noise level regulations - 75 dBA at 7m. Dealer Powermech opted for a 12 litre DC12 6 cylinder in-line turbo charged diesel which provides excellent economical single step transient load acceptance without compromising voltage transient performance.
