Scottish and Southern drop wind plans

29 November 2005

The decision follows analysis of bird survey data gathered over two years from 2003, and consultation with local RSPB officers.

The surveys identified that the site lies under flight lines of Greenland white-fronted geese and Greylag geese. It was concluded that a windfarm at this location would pose a significant risk of collision for the geese. As a result, SSE has dropped plans for the 116 MW and 58 turbine development.
