A2SEA's new Chinese-built installation vessel, Sea Challenger, arrived at the Port of Esbjerg, Denmark, on 17 May, and is preparing to mobilise for its first project, Dong Energy's Westermost Rough offshore wind facility in the UK.

Sea Challenger is a sister vessel to Sea Installer, which entered A2SEA's fleet in December 2012 and went directly to Gunfleet Sands to install two Siemens 6 MW test turbines.

Sea Challenger is expected to start operations at Westermost Rough in mid June. Thirty five Siemens 6 MW turbines are to be installed there, the first large scale deployment of these machines, with full commissioning anticipated in the first half of 2015.
