SGS, the global inspection, verification and testing group, has acquired Australian Radiation Services Pty Ltd. (ARS) based in Melbourne.
ARS is said to be Australasia's leading provider of radiation calibration, monitoring, testing and consulting. It was founded in 1996 and is hitherto privately owned, generating revenues in excess of AU$ 6 million.
"This is a great acquisition for SGS in the region. It builds on the recent acquisition of Leeder, creating a regional centre for specialty analysis in Melbourne and further enhances our reputation as an innovative provider of environmental services." said Chris Kirk, CEO of SGS, which currently operates a network of over 1350 offices and laboratories around the world.
