Siemens acquires Wheelabrator

Wheelabrator Air Pollution Control, a designer and supplier of air pollution reduction products for the coal-fired power industry, has been acquired by Siemens.

The deal was closed by Siemens and Aquilex Corp, a private equity firm that held Wheelabrator, for an undisclosed sum.

Wheelabrator is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and has operations in Milton, Ontario, Canada. It will become part of the Siemens Power Generation global services division.
