Siemens announces US service orders

NRG, located near Houston, Texas, has awarded to Siemens an order to replace its existing low pressure turbine rotors on the Parish Station Unit 8 with installation planned for spring 2008.

Siemens is also to conduct turbine upgrades for CPS Energy, a municipal utility also located in Texas, at its Deely Station Units 1 and 2. The upgrades consist of hardware and installation for a high pressure-intermediate pressure and a low pressure turbine rotor for each unit. Scheduled implementation for Units 1 and 2 are for spring 2008 and fall 2007 respectively. Deely Station is located in San Antonio.

Siemens is also to perform a turbine-generator upgrade at the MR Young Station Unit 2, located in Center, North Dakota for Minnkota Power Cooperative. The project scope includes hardware and installation of high pressure-intermediate and low pressure turbine rotors, generator stator and rotor rewinds, boiler study, thermal cycle study and various other components. Installation of the upgraded components is scheduled for fall 2007.
