A turnkey 400 MW combined cycle power plant is to be developed in Herdecke in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany by Siemens at a cost of around €220 million.
The facility is being developed on behalf of Kraftwerksgesellschaft Herdecke which is backed by Hagen-based Mark-E AG and the Norwegian utility Statkraft. The order also includes a long-term plant maintenance agreement for the plant which is to be built on an existing site in Herdecke.
Siemens is to supply one gas turbine, one steam turbine and two generators for the plant, a heat-recovery steam generator and the electrical, and instrumentation and control equipment. Plant handover is scheduled for the summer of 2007.
