Siemens wins industrial contracts

7 April 2005

A contract to supply the main components of a CCGT plant in Bergamo, Italy has been awarded to Siemens by Dalmine Tenaris. In a consortium with Italian company Macchi Steam, Siemens is to supply two 45 MW gas-fired turbines and one 41 MW steam turbine. Macchi Steam will manufacture the two heat-recovery steam generators for the turbines. The power plant, which will generate 120 MW of electricity and 11 MW of district heat, is scheduled to begin commercial operation in February 2007.

The German group has also been awarded a supply contract for four gas turbines for an industrial power plant in Saudi Arabia which is slated to come on line later this year. Yamama Saudi Cement, Saudi Arabia’s largest cement producer, has ordered four 25 MW gas turbines to replace an existing diesel plant.

The combined orders are worth approximately $120 million.
