Spanish Cesa and Terranova link likely

26 January 2005

Reports from Spain suggest that Corporacion Eolica SA (Cesa) and rival Terranova Energy are likely to merge in order to create the fourth largest wind energy company in Spain. If the merger is successful, the group will control 31 wind parks in Spain with an installed capacity of 800 MW operating in Galicia, Asturias, Castille-La Mancha, Castille-Leon and Andalusia. Under the planned deal Cesa will buy a 66% holding in Terranova Energy before a capital increase.
