Spanish investments up

Spanish electricity companies invested some Euro4.53 billion ($6.089 billion) in 2004, a 9.7% increase on 2003, according to the Spanish electricity industry association Unesa. Almost Euro3 billion ($3.898 billion) went into generation, an increase of 13.7% on the year, while the rest was invested in transport and distribution. The Association added that demand had risen 3.7% to 238,730 GWh, while gross production for stood at 278,425 GWh, a 5.3% increase.
