STUDY OF SYSTEM RESILIENCE

5 March 2002

The UK government is to carry out a study into the resilience of the country's transmission and distribution system in the face of an emergency. The study, which is to be carried out by British Power International, will try to establish whether the best systems to minimise or avoid power failures are in place. The scope of the study includes the effects of reorganisations within the industry, and the influence of unusual weather patterns.
