Tenders and proposals: Israel solar

20 January 2005

The Ministry of National Infrastructures of Israel (MNI) is considering issuing a Request for Proposals for the construction and operation of a 100 MW solar power plant - with the possibility of eventual expansion to 500MW - in southern Israel. The plant would operate as an independent power producer with a power purchase contract with the Israel Electric Corp. By 1 March 2005, MNI hopes to receive information from concerns capable of establishing and operating a solar IPP in Israel and including, among other details, a description of the technology proposed, size of units, energy efficiency and size.

The information should be sent to Ms. Ilana Levine, e-mail: ilevine@mni.gov.il, Electricity Administration, Ministry of National Infrastructures, 234 Jaffa Street, P.O.B. 36148, Jerusalem Israel 91360.
