Thailand orders MHI gas engine

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has won an order for a gas engine power plant from the Thai National Power Company (TNP), a Thai subsidiary of International Power.

The 23 MW plant will use four 18MACH-30G, a V-18 gas engine with a 5.75 MW rated output. The plant is scheduled to go on-stream in October 2006 and MHI is also separately contracted to a 17-year maintenance service agreement for the facility which is to be built at TNP's site within Siam Eastern Industrial Park in Rayong Province, around 170 km southeast of Bangkok. Financial terms were not disclosed.
