Trina supplies Chile project

Trina Solar is to supply 36 MW of its high efficiency solar modules to a large scale photovoltaic (PV) project in Chile.

The China-based firm has signed an agreement to supply its TSM-PC14 modules to the unspecified project and expects to complete shipment in the second quarter of 2014.

To The TSM-PC14 module is certified to 1000 V and is said to be ideal for large installations in areas prone to high temperatures and dry conditions. "Chile's vast desert with abundant solar resources creates significant potential for solar energy," said Zhiguo Zhu, president of Trina Solar's module business unit. "We are enthusiastic about the prospects for solar energy in Chile and look forward to increasing our supply of modules to support the local solar industry.

"Our penetration into Chile's solar market also supports our market diversification strategy."
