Trina to supply modules for project in Chile

20 September 2014

Trina Solar has secured its second order this year for the supply of solar modules to a large-scale project in Chile.

The Chinese firm is to supply 70 MW of its TSM-PC14 solar modules to the project and says that it sees "significant future potential for solar energy" in Chile.

Earlier this year Trina secured a deal to provide 36 MW of the same module to another project in Chile. Shipments to this project were due to be completed in the second quarter of 2014.

The TSM-PC14 module is certified to 1000 V and is ideal for large installations in areas prone to high temperatures and dry conditions.

"We are delighted with the demand we're seeing for our high efficiency modules in South America and we expect this to continue to grow," said Zhiguo Zhu, President of Module Business Unit at Trina Solar. "The stable performance these modules provide in environments with high variations in temperature are very suitable for the region's solar projects."

Shipment of the modules for the latest project will start in September 2014.
