UES and China State Grid Corp sign cooperation agreement

Leaders of Russia’s power giant UES and the State Grid Corp of China (SGCC) have inked a deal on long-term cooperation in the development of electricity trade between Russia and China.


The deal is aimed at encouraging investment in development of infrastructure to support expansion of electricity trade between the two, specifically in Siberia and the far east of Russia.

China has reportedly expressed an interest in expanding electricity imports from Russia as the main focus of the agreement.
