27 July 2005

Russia’s Unified Energy Systems (UES) has reportedly acquired management and financial control over Electric Networks of Armenia (ArmElNet), the national transmission company for the country.

UK-based Midland Resources, which has owned ArmElNet since 2002, has delegated the right to manage and receive profits from the group to UES for a fee of $73 million, although it remains the owner of the grid.
