Alstom has won a r20 million contract for the supply and installation of the fourth 40 MWe hydroelectric unit at Kiira Hydropower Station, formerly known as New Owen Falls. The contract is turnkey, and covers turbine, generator, gates, electrical balance of plant, and civil works for installation of the unit in the existing pit. Completion time for the contract is 26 months.
