UK debate on nuclear power to open post-election

Media reports from the UK have suggested that premier Tony Blair will resurrect the debate over nuclear energy if he is re-elected in the UK's general election on 5 May.

The government has repeatedly refused to expand on its position as set out in a White Paper two years ago, but a senior source told BBC News that Blair would raise the issue in June or July, when the government has to respond to its climate change policy review.
