UK gas distribution networks up for grabs

Plans by National Grid Transco (NGT) to sell off four of its eight gas distribution networks have been approved by the UK government. Consumers are expected to benefit by savings worth an estimated £225 million over 18 years from 2005. The decision comes almost two years after NGT announced its intention to sell off some of its distribution networks.
