Vestas to build blade plant in China

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has begun construction of a $30 million turbine blade plant in the Tianjin Development Zone of northern China.

The site was chosen to produce 39 m long blades for the V80, its 2 MW unit and the first blades will be produced in the first half of next year. Output for 2007 is estimated at 600 blades.
