Voith to upgrade Russian hydro

The contract, valued at €33.2 million, includes the replacement of the unit’s hydraulic machine and its auxiliary equipment. The output of the 9 m diameter Kaplan turbine will be increased from 65 MW to 70 MW.

Uglich hydro power station, consisting of two units, started operation in 1940 and was the first hydro power station of the Volga-Kama cascade.
