The plant will burn wood residues from the local forestry industry and have a net electrical power output of 3.29 MW, and a thermal output of 10 MW for district heating. The electrical output in full condensing mode operation will reach 5.3 MW.

The plant will be located in municipality of Amel in the Ardennes of Belgium and will supply power to the grid and heat for two local factories. In addition Wärtsilä is supplying a 12 MWth oil-fuelled boiler.

The power plant will begin commercial operations at the beginning of 2007.

The Belgian government is supporting the project financially as the plant will produce electricity from renewable sources.
