Electric Charge Transfer (ECT) has proved an effective way of measuring coal flow on-line in the conduits of coal-fired plants. A primary benefit is in the optimising of combustion to achieve low NOx, with the possibility of automatic adjustment of secondary air flow to the measured coal flow.
