Having addressed issues raised in the course of extensive field evaluation of the Mercury 50 recuperated gas turbine Solar Turbines is now accepting orders for production units, which will be available for shipment in the first half of 2005. The company is currently in discussions with a customer who is expected to be the first to operate a new Mercury 50 pre-production unit – scheduled to be commissioned by December 2004.
