Thursday, May 20, 2021 by Hamon

Hamon – Esindus has been selected by the Spanish EPC company TSK to provide a 7 cell seawater, low-noise and fire resistant induced draft cooling tower for the Atinkou Flexible Gas Power Plant.

The plant, located in Jacqueville, about 40 km from Abidjan, the economic capital and main city of Ivory Coast, is the largest project of its kind in the country, as well as in West Africa. It will produce 2,875 GWh annually and will be capable of powering approximately one million homes. It will be connected to the new substation and 400 kV electricity transmission network. This is the first network in Ivory Coast of this voltage level, aimed at reducing losses in the transport of energy. The new plant is designed to meet all the environmental standards of the World Bank and will have very low emissions associated with it.

The project is already ongoing and the plant is scheduled to begin operations in late 2022.
