Centrais Eletricas do Norte do Brasil - Eletronorte - has awarded a contract to MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg for maintenance, repair and engineering support for LM2500 and LM6000 industrial gas turbines. The contract is worth over $30 million and runs for three years with an option on a fourth year. Eletronorte provides power generation and transmission in the Amazon regions of Brazil, covering roughly 58 per cent of the land area. It is also responsible for distribution in the cities of Manaus and Boa Vista.
