Dresser-Rand, now part of Siemens, has supplied a 250 kW Guascor gas engine for Lockeed Martin’s recently commissioned gasification based bioenergy plant at Owego, NY, USA.

The first demonstration of Lockheed Martin’s new waste-to-energy concept, the gasification system employs Lockheed’s Concord Blue technology to gasify wood chips or municipal solid waste.

Heat is recovered from the engine to assist in drying the feedstock. The Guascor gas engine was chosen “because of its reliability in handling hydrogen-based fuel that will be created from waste material.”
