First modular rental

Aggreko invested 18 months R & D in designing what it is describing as 'the best rental generator ever', a unit designated GHP2 and including enhanced features intended to help the company lead the rental field. These include increased sound attenuation, enormously extended service intervals, emission control, theft/vandal protection and the availability of a set of custom modules to match the generator to the specific needs of different kinds of user, an approach which the company claims is new to the rental sector.

Aggrreko,which operates the largest rental fleet in the world, considers that the achievement of these various improvements represents a breakthrough in design. They have drawn lessons from best practice in the automotive industry, reducing to a quarter the number of services required in normal use and fitting extra large fuel tanks to extend greatly the filling interval. Modular extras available include integral distribution equipment and advanced synchronising technology. Sound attenuation results in a sound power level of 81 dbA and low emission levels, meeting the most recent European and Californian standards. A special base collects any fuel, oil or coolant leakages.
