At the beginning of each year, Konecranes service technicians co-ordinate the timeframes for maintenance and the safety- related checks with GKM.

The cranes and hoists in use at GKM have various years of construction, have been supplied by a range of manufacturers and have different histories. These factors must be taken into account during inspections.

For maintenance and inspection of the cranes and hoists, two Konecranes service technicians spend about three months at GKM. With yourKonecranes.com, the technicians always have mobile access to comprehensive information – from technical data to test reports – via their smartphone or tablet, regardless of where they are located on the large power plant site. With every inspection, the service technicians update the data within the portal for each crane and hoist, and GKM can readily track the status of maintenance work.

Following maintenance, a test report is produced by Konecranes for each of the 260 cranes and hoists and advice given as to how to further optimise the units. GKM can access all these reports on-line through the yourKonecranes.com portal. Especially helpful is that via the search function, the cranes and hoists can be ranked by various criteria, such as maintenance priority.
