Mining gas at the coalface

Deutz AG subsidiary Deutz Energy has sold 22 of its energy systems, valued at around 23 million euros and totalling 30 MW of generating capacity, to Octagon Energy, the UK energy provider specialising in coal bed methane. The contract also covers the operation and maintenance of the systems over period of 10 years. Each system is equipped with a 16 cylinder gas engine from the 620 family and each has been assembled in a single container as a complete system.
