Modular QIX

16 November 2001

Atlas Copco has enlarged its range of diesel powered generating sets with the addition of the newly launched modular design QIX generator. It comes with a new type of control panel, the QcTM range. The QIX range consists of seven models with power ratings from 220 to 540 kVA, 50 Hz. These ratings are quoted under LTP (limited time power) stipulations and the company says the design has resulted from consultations with the customer base. It is assembled from the Deutz liquid cooled 1015 diesel power pack directly coupled to a Mecc Alte synchronous brushless alternator tailor made for this application.

The package is modular, leading to wide interchangeability of components and fast route repair and servicing. Options include a range of bolt-on weather protected and sound attenuated canopies. The upgradeable control systems include options for remote start modules, LC display and analogue or digital modems, all interchangeable among models. The standard package includes an electronic engine governor, alternator 3-phase sensing and overload capacity rated at 300 per cent for 20 seconds.
