Recent power industry contracts/Brazil

Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation has won a R30 million contract from Tractebel to deliver a complete hydro power station in São Salvador, Brazil.

The power plant will be equipped with two Kaplan turbines with a runner diameter of 8 m and two generators with a total output of 250 MW at a head of 22.8 m.

Project works have already begun, with commissioning of the first unit scheduled for November 2004.
