Send for the QAC

A new containerised diesel genset delivering 900 kVA (continuous) and 1000 kVA standby has been produced by Atlas Copco. Designated QAC1000, it is a heavy duty unit designed to handle the rigours of the rental market or the construction site, while a noise level well below EC requirements brings it into the reckoning for use in residential areas.

The set is available at 50 or 60 Hz and is driven by a 32 litre turbocharged DCC 16V2000 Series 895 kW engine controlled by two electronic engine management modules. Fuel consumption ranges from 58.4 l/h at 25 per cent loading to 201.3 l/h at full load. Standard features include a stainless steel silencer and a triple fuel pre-filter with water separator. An automatic oil make up system with a 50 l tank is available. The whole fits inside a 20 ft ISO container.
